Its reputation may dive and it may experience a run. Much of the value of a large well-established firm may be in its brand. Which can be damaged by all sorts of occurrences, e.g. claims that firm is using unethical or socially irresponsible business practices. Various case studies exist on how to react if bad news breaks. May be less important for a start up that has little tangible brand value. But reputational damage could then kill a nascent business
