Introduction (partial) "This is the report of the Sponsor Covenant Working Party. It is addressed to the Technical Support and Research Committee of the Pensions Board. It sets out our findings based on our collective expertise and our research. This report is concerned with actuarial advice in relation to defined benefit pension schemes. Accordingly, all references to schemes or actuarial pensions advice should be read as referring to defined benefit pension schemes. (Defined contribution pension schemes can also have deficits e.g. in relation to under provision for winding up expenses or because they contain guarantees that have not been secured. It should be self-evident how to apply the conclusions in this report in such cases.)"
