Executive Summary (partial) "The European Banking Authority (EBA) has developed guidelines on the approach that institutions should adopt for the purposes of setting appropriate individual and aggregate limits for exposures to shadow banking entities that carry out banking activities outside a regulated framework in accordance with the mandate in Article 395(2) of Regulation (EU) No. 575/2013 (‘Guidelines on limits on exposures to shadow banking entities’). To better understand the relevance of institutions’ exposures to certain types of unregulated and specified regulated entities (the so-called ‘shadow banking entities’) and the impact of potential limits, a data collection has been conducted. This Report presents the outcome of this data collection, where 184 institutions (169 credit institutions and 15 investment firms) from 22 Member States have participated."
